Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is a zoological theme park located in the southwestern corner of the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. Themed around the conversation and preservation of the natural environment and animals, it opened on Earth Day, April 22, 1998, as the fourth and final theme park at Walt Disney World. Its icon is the Tree of Life, a 145-foot-tall (44 m), 50-foot-wide (15 m) artificial baobab tree. It features seven areas; the Oasis, Discovery Island (formerly Safari Village but was later renamed after the zoological park and island in WDW's Bay Lake when it closed in 1999), Pandora – The World of Avatar (which replaced Camp Minnie-Mickey), Africa, Rafiki's Planet Watch, Asia, and DinoLand U.S.A.
