Furry Force is/was a series of animated shorts, later adapted into a series of Comic Books, created by the comedy YouTube Channel/Website CollegeHumor. The shorts followed the adventures of a team of Eco-Friendly Superheroes with the power to transform into their fursonas to thwart the schemes of Eco-Villains bent on destroying habitats or poaching animals. The group is heavily inspired by the likes of Captain Planet and Power Rangers, centering around 4 campy teenagers and their specific color-coded powers. The series is known to have heavily parodied the bizarrely overly-sexualized nature of the Furry Fandom, as well as the nature of how fictional media influences young people into eventually becoming furries, as the show is presented as though it aired on Fox Kids.
The series currently has 3 episodes, with the first being originally uploaded on to CollegeHumor's YouTube channel on January 22th, 2014, and the latest being uploaded on July 17th, 2015. The series also rather humorously won an Ursa Major Award for best Short Work in 2014. It was written by Brian Murphy and Adam Conover, and the animation was directed by Rich Duhaney.
In 2019 CollegeHumor's online streaming/web-comic service Dropout.tv began publishing a series of web-comics based on the Furry Force animated shorts. The series was a sequel following the immediate aftermath of the third episode and centered around the introduction of a new character in the form of Lieutenant Wilson. The comics were drawn by the artist Noel Rodriguez, also known as Komoroshi. There are currently only two issues of the comic which were published back-to-back. In January 2020, Shea Strauss (Comic/Chat Editor) announced the launch of Dropout 2.0, which would relocate all of Droput.tv's web-comics to Webtoon, with the exception of Furry Force, which was stored in a Google Drive folder embedded in a post from Dropout's Twitter Account.
Characters
The Furry Force
The Heroes of Furry Force are four human teenagers who can transform into anthropomorphic animals. They are notorious for their weirdly sexual combat techniques, their masochistic tendencies, and their ability to form "yiff balls" in order to fuse together into "The Giant Furmaphrodite". They are:
- Leon (voiced by Brian Murphy), an auburn-haired boy who transforms into an effeminate lion in a red thong. His abilities include being able to absorb blunt force trauma into his soft, wet, and matted fur. He is possibly gay, and attracted to Victor Vivisector. He resembles the character Lion-O from Thundercats.
- Gary (voiced by Caldwell Tanner), a black-haired bespectacled boy who transforms into a wolf taur. His unique physiology gives him superhuman strength and speed. He can also release a thick cloud of musk from his pubic mounds that can blind, disorient, or incapacitate large groups of enemies from a distance.
- Callie (voiced by Emily Axford), a blonde girl who transforms into a hyper-endowed squirrel. She has shown to be able to use the surprisingly high weight and density of her breasts to pin a single enemy to the ground. She also has the power of Super Fecundity, as seen in the second episode, where she was impregnated by an unknown male after transforming, and within the time it took for her to reach the villain's base she had the appearance of someone beyond nine months pregnant, subsequently gave birth on command. Her son is Furancis.
- Trang (voiced by Rachel Ilg), a black-haired girl who transforms into a six-breasted cow. Trang is capable of squirting high pressure liquid milk from her teats. She can also seemingly manipulate the properties of the milk, such as flavor, viscosity, stickiness, and/or freezing point.
- Furancis (voiced by Adam Conover), Callie's son but we don't know who the father is. (He only appears in the second episode and the second issue of the comic.) He has the appearance of a short but extremely muscular yellow dog with a squirrel's tail wearing red thong and collar. His design is based on Scrappy-Doo from Scooby-Doo in terms of visage and personality.
The Villains
All of the supervillains whom the Furry Force faces are over-the-top humans who usually want to profit in ways that involve killing animals or destroying their ecosystems. The villains are:
- Victor Vivisector (voiced by Adam Conover in a deep low-pitched voice), a part-robotic evil mastermind who wears a red, black, and white body stocking. His face is a mask with jagged jack-o-lantern teeth, and he has a love of parking lots. Vivisector despises the Furry Force, not only because they are heroes, but also because of their disturbingly erotic and perverted behavior, something that disgusts him to no end. Towards the end of the series, his goals shifts from turning every National Park in the United States into a parking lot, to destroying the Furry Force at all costs. He appears to be inspired by the likes of Doctor Doom and Skeletor from Marvel Comics and the Masters of the Universe franchise.
- Krunk (voiced by Josh Ruben), a henchman who resembles World Wrestling Federation Superstar Hulk Hogan. He and Hip-Hop have the habit of killing each other every episode.
- Hip-Hop (voiced by Adam Conover), a brown-skinned henchman with a green mohawk and yellow sunshades, possibly a shout-out to the human form of Bebop from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He and Krunk have the habit of killing each other in every episode.
- The Scalie Squad, a group of leather-clad artificially created, bioengineered, anthropomorphic reptiles that were made by Victor Vivisector to be The Furry Force's equal in every possible way. Victor Vivisector built them in the hopes that their battle with the Furry Force would lead to the mutual destruction of both groups. However, according to Leon's future-self from a destroyed alternate timeline, the battle between the two groups winded up causing the apocalypse. The members consist of an red-orange dragon with small wings and a nose ring wearing a gimp mask, leather arm bands, and shin guards. A green crocodile wearing a mankini and leather wrist bands. A female Naga with a cobra hood and either pink or blue scales, wearing as black belt bandeau around her breasts. A yellow, Iguana wearing an elaborate full body harness and armbands. They are all killed by Victor Vivisector himself upon receiving Future Leon's information to prevent them from destroying the world. He also burns down his base with himself inside to make sure that nothing like what Future-Leon describes happens. They are the Psycho Rangers to the Furry Force's Power Rangers.
- Madam Sadie Stoneheart, a rich Canadian fur trader, known for hunting arctic animals for their fur. Her design and motive seems to be based on Cruella De Vil and Dr. Blight from 101 Dalmatians and Captain Planet. Only appears in the 1st issue of the Furry Force Comics previously hosted on DropOut.tv.
- Elvis, the owner of an illegal dogfighting ring. A short older gentleman with tan skin, balding grey hair, who wears fancy white clothing. Only appears in the 2nd issue of the Furry Force Comics previously hosted on DropOut.tv.
- Rex Vivisector, the human son of Victor Vivisector. Swore revenge on the Furry Force for indirectly causing his father's death. Only appears towards the end of the 1st issue of the Furry Force Comics previously hosted on DropOut.tv.
Other Characters
- General Clarence (voiced by Sam Reich), the resident talking head on the screen for the Furry Force. An older gentleman with peach skin, grey hair, and a moustache. Is very much disgusted by Furry Force and does not like having to directly deal with them.
- The President of the United States (voiced by Sam Reich), was held hostage by Victor Vivisector and subsequently rescued by the Furry Force in episode 2. He later resigns from office in the same episode. Somewhat resembles 43rd president of the United States George H.W. Bush.
- Lieutenant Wilson, the 6th member of the Furry Force. Does not have the ability to transform into a fursona on the account of not being a furry. Was reassigned to the team to help keep them in line. Only appears in the Furry Force Comics previously hosted on DropOut.tv
