Rooter is the father of Crew Byrne, created by Anti Dev. The artist has referred to him as "Crew's horrible father".^[1]

Rooter looks a lot like his son. He is an anthropomorphic pileated woodpecker with red feather hair, including his body hair (eyebrows, chest hair, armpit hair, beard and pubes). His body and tail feathers are black with some white, and he has a grey beak. Unlike his son, though, who has red eyes, Rooter has blue eyes.

Anti Dev's short description of Rooter was: "He's a lumberjack, he's extremely chill, and he's the only dad character I've ever made who has hair."^[2] He also described him as "a buff stoner lumberjack".^[3]

Trivia:

• When Anti Dev started creating Rooter, in march 2017, he originally "wanted to avoid making him hot, but he's a lumberjack. So he's already hot no matter what".^[4]
• Rooter taught his son how to roll a joint.^[5]
• Anti Dev joked that when he turns 55 years old, he would switch his fursona from Crew to Rooter "and never miss a beat".^[6]
