Maya the bee, also known as "Biene Maya" is a character resembling a honeybee that was created by german author Waldemar Bronsels. The character first appeared in the book "Die Biene Maya und ihre Abenteuer" in the 1912, and has since then seen multiple adaptations including comic-books, animated shows, and even theatrical pieces and musicals. Not only has she become very famous in europe, but her most recent show from 2015 has also won multiple music awards including 7 "Goldene Schallplatten" (Golden Vynil Records), 2 Golden Kid's Choice awards and 5 Platinum Kid's Choice awards.
