Tech Decks are model skateboards made by the Canadian brand, Spin Master. They have fully functional hardware and behave similarly to a real skateboard. Fingerboards in general were around since the 60s although Tech Deck became a prominent brand in the late 90s as fingerboards, and collecting them, became popular: hence why they are usually referred to as Tech Decks instead of fingerboards.

Tech Decks are often used to symbolize 90s-00s childhood nostalgia, akin to a GameBoy or CRT TV.
