black hole
A black hole is an astronomical object with intense mass and gravitational pull.
They appear as an invisible sphere, bending light behind it around the corners of the object, however, in artworks, they can appear differently due to artistic representation. Some artworks may represent them as literally black, with most adding in hot glowing gases being pulled in or spiraling around the object. Some artworks may also add an astrophysical jet, which looks like a beam of light jetting out along the black hole's axis of rotation.
The effect that black holes have bending light around the edges is due to the intense gravitational pull, pulling light in towards itself, before letting go as it gets out of range.
