retro console
A retro console is a game console that was commercially released on or prior to 1993. Be aware that the Nintendo 64 (1996), the Sega Saturn (1994), and the Sega Dreamcast (1998) are not considered retro consoles by this definition. This tag also applies to rereleased versions of retro consoles such as the mini console variants of the Nintendo Entertainment System, and the SNES Mini. It may also be used for custom game consoles made to reflect the retro art style.
Controllers designed to operate with one of these consoles may be tagged as retro controller regardless of when their model is released.

- More consoles may be added to this list at a later time. These reflect console brands currently represented under this tag.
- The Commodore 64 while having had a presence in the retro video game scene is actually a home computer, and should be tagged retro computer instead.
