The pit bull has become a collective name for the dog breeds of the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, and the American Bully. Between these, they share traits of having very short fur, a mid-sized frame, a muscular body, a ridge down the top of the head, shrivels on the forehead, a boxy snout, short to medium flews, round eyes with visible irises, and ears being either half pricked, rose eared, button eared, or cropped.
