x-ray flash
An x-ray flash is interactive (e.g. Flash) content featuring an effect where upon moving the cursor around erases one or more layers of the artwork to reveal previously-hidden details, or a video simulating such a game being played. For example, the artwork may initially show a fully-clothed character whose clothing can be erased.
This should be treated as a hover effect instead of actual animated content.
Not to be confused with the flash of radiation produced by an x-ray machine, see radiograph.
