Character: snagglepuss
Snagglepuss is a Hanna-Barbera cartoon character debuted in prototype form in 1959 and established as a studio regular by 1962. A pink anthropomorphic cougar who wears an upturned collar, shirt cuffs, and string tie, Snagglepuss enjoys all things fancy and shows a particular affinity for theatre. He is best known for his quasi-Shakespearean/American accent and the catchphrases: "Heavens to Murgatroyd!" and "Exit, stage left!"
In the cartoons, Snagglepuss goes through various misadventures, from making his cavern more habitable for himself, to attempting to get himself in a starring role of a movie. But no matter the situation, he usually gets back to where he started. In some shorts, he is chased by hunter Major Minor in a Bugs Bunny-esque scenario.
