A specific form of impalement involving a live bamboo shoot. Like traditional impalement, this is a particularly cruel form of torture and execution: the victim is tightly bound to a frame and positioned over a young bamboo tree so that it penetrates their anus or vagina. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, with some varieties able to grow at 91 centimeters (35 inches) per day - the tree grows through the victim's body until they are completely skewered.
