Musk Deer describes several related species under the genus Moschus; musk deer are found in the taiga, forests, and mountains of Eastern and Southern Asia.

Despite their name, musk deer are not actually cervids or "true deer", but a more primitive species related to antelope, sheep, goats, and bovines. Musk deer notably have large, protruding tusks, and while deer-like in appearance, they lack the antlers and differ with cervids on many other minor anatomical features. The musk deer is named for their musk gland, which was once widely harvested and used to create perfumes, however, this has largely been replaced by synthetic musk and many moschids are protected, endangered species.
