Overview
Team Flare is a villainous team in the Pokémon franchise that appears in Pokémon X and Y. They are based in Kalos.
Hierarchy and Appearances
Team Flare is led by Lysandre, who has mane-like orange hair and a full orange beard. He has blue eyes which he covers in his final battle with a set of orange shades. He wears a black suit with orange trim and a large white collar ruff. He also wears black pants with orange trim, fingerless black gloves, and black dress shoes.
The Team Flare grunts all have deep orange-red hair styled to resemble wisps of fire, with the males having one wisp at the front-right of their head, and the females having two wisps, one wisp on either side of their head. All grunts, both male and female, wear an orange tuxedo with white shirt and black tie, orange pants, orange shades, and black gloves and shoes.
There are multiple admins who, much like the grunts, are unnamed. They all wear white suits and shades with orange lenses and white frames, and have two yellow ear piercings. The male admins are bald and wear orange gloves and white pants, with both their piercings in their left ear. The female admins have shoulder-length orange-red hair and orange fingernails, and wear white skirts and orange leggings, with one piercing in each ear.
Team Flare has five scientists, these being Aliana, Bryony, Celosia, Mable, and the only male scientist, Xerosic. They all have unique eyewear and clothing, unlike the grunts. Bryony and Celosia face the player character in a double battle at some point in the story, while the other scientists fight in single battles.
The female scientists all wear the same orange belt and suit with white trim, but with different-colored ties to match their hair and eyewear, along with different armwear and legwear. Aliana has short orange hair and wears a visor with an orange light in the middle, orange tie, and thigh-high orange stockings. Bryony has neck-length green hair which splays out at the bottom and wears a green tie and green visor which somewhat resembles shades. Celosia has short, combed over purple hair, and wears a visor with a purple light bisecting the middle horizontally, and a purple tie, with black leggings. Mable has blue hair with two bangs that form ring shapes, and wears a blue tie and visor with two short horizontal blue lines where her eyes would be. Additionally, Aliana and Mable wear orange skirts with a black line around the bottom, while Bryony and Celosia wear orange shorts with white trim. Aliana and Bryony both wear orange gloves, while Celosia and Mable wear black bands around their forearms instead. They all wear orange boots, but while those of Aliana and Celosia stop halfway up their calves, the boots that Bryony and Mable wear reach just above their knees.
Xerosic is a wide-framed man with strange, pale grayish-white skin. His red hair forms three strips at different angles which enclose his head, along with a jagged portion resembling a tall flame, and a red goatee. He wears rounded orange-red goggles and a small headset on his head. He also wears an orange suit and small tie, orange pants, orange shoes, and a single light blue glove on his left hand. He keeps the right glove in one of the two front pockets on his suit.
Story and Goals
Team Flare's goal is to create a "beautiful and better" world while making money, eliminating everyone who does not follow their standards.
Team Flare is behind many of the game's events, including the blackout in Lumiose City, where they own a café, and the theft of a large amount of Poké Balls. Lysandre begins following his own goals to control the legendary Pokémon Xerneas (in X) or Yveltal (in Y). After Lysandre fires the ultimate weapon with its nearly drained power, it destroys itself and buries Lysandre under the rubble, leaving him to an unknown fate. Team Flare then disbands.
During the post-game, Xerosic is heavily involved in a side-story involving Looker, in which Xerosic is the primary threat. The post-game also reveals that the Elite Four Member Malva was a member of Team Flare prior to the organization's disbandment, though her former rank is unknown.
