Team Skull is a villainous team in the Pokémon franchise that appears in Pokémon Sun and Moon, along with Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. It is based in the Alola region.
Team Skull is led by Guzma, with Plumeria as its sole admin. In the games and manga, Gladion acts as a hired enforcer, but is commonly mocked by the grunts, who don't consider him a "true" member of Team Skull.
As revealed by some of the grunts, Team Skull is composed of misfits who failed the island challenge. They lack any specific goal other than to cause mischief and acquire enough money to support themselves. Unlike the other villainous teams, they do not pose a serious threat to Alola and its residents, many of whom consider them to be thuggish nuisances at worst.
At some point, Lusamine became the secret benefactor of Team Skull, and they, in turn, started to carry out her orders, though not all team members were aware of her influence. After Team Skull kidnapped Lillie and her Cosmog Nebby, Gladion immediately severed his ties with Team Skull and joined the player character and Hau in rescuing Lillie and Nebby from the Aether Foundation.
