pokemon move

A "move" is a Pokemon term for named skills that Pokémon use in battle.
Ideally, this tag is used when a Pokémon's move is named in a post (a called attack ), a Pokémon is depicted, and the art matches canonical depictions of that move. Alternatively, this tag can be used when highly recognizable signature moves, like aura sphere or draco meteor, are used by a Pokémon. Preferably, the Pokémon using the move makes canonical sense, but E621 tagging usually ignores such lore constraints.
"[Pokémon] used [move]! It's super effective!" was a popular meme format (KYM) that is not currently tagged on E621 (but easily could be) and will have many examples of the pokemon_move tag, especially the move Attract in erotic Pokémon posts.

1. To disambiguate generically named moves from other tags, add a tag suffix like [name]_(move).
Do not confuse with
Avoid tagging this when a specific move cannot be identified. For example:
- a Snorlax sleeping might not be using Rest
- a Dugtrio tunneling underground may just be "digging" and not explicitly using Dig
- a Hypno performing mind control might not be using its Hypnosis move although may still qualify for the general hypnosis tag
- however, a Hypno performing mind control via a swinging pendulum could reasonably be tagged pokemon_move
- Salazzle's highly fetishized pheromones does not seem to specifically match any of its many Poison and other mind-altering moves and is probably not even a move
Pokémon manifesting generic powers, like a Fire-type Pokémon performing simple fire manipulation, can be impossible to match to a specific move. At best, these unknown powers can be grouped into generic tags like psychic, but they should probably not be tagged as moves.
Pokémon abilities are not moves.
Pokémon moves are not regarded as magic. Whether or not this is semantically correct for tagging probably does not have a clear answer.
