ThunderCats Roar is an animated television series developed by Victor Courtright and Marly Halpern-Graser and produced by Warner Bros. Animation that aired on Cartoon Network. It serves served as the second reboot of the ThunderCats franchise. Unlike the previous 1985 and the ThunderCats 2011 series, this series will be more had a more toony and comedic in tone (instead of realistic and dramatic like the previous ThunderCats shows), featuring a thin-line animation art style similar to shows such as Adventure Time and Steven Universe. Upon release of the show's first trailer, it received major backlash from fans of the original 1985 series and the 2011 reboot, criticizing the art style and tonal shift of the new show, as well as ridiculing the show's creators. The backlash had received some pushback from other Internet users who believe that the backlash is overblown and pointed out the flaws of the 1985 series, such as the numerous animation errors, but this has not stopped the trailer from receiving 4200 dislikes and only 400 likes in just three days.

When ThunderCats Roar premiered on February 22, 2020, ThunderCats Roar received even more backlash, negative criticism, and exceptionally low viewership ratings, to the point that the series was cancelled by Cartoon Network before the first season ended. The entire series only lasted one season, for less than one year, with 52 eleven-minute episodes. The last episode of the series, "Mandora Saves Christmas", aired on December 5, 2020. This marks Jules Bass's first solo production after the death of Arthur Rankin Jr. in 2014.
