Vaporwave is a visual aesthetic tied to a music genre of the same name. Vaporwave is strongly associated with 1990s pop culture, cyberpunk, and retro-futurism. Vaporwave will often feature imagery of 1990s web design and technology, as well as products and fashions of the 90s. Pastel colours, and to a lesser extent, neon colours, are characteristic of Vaporwave aesthetics. While Vaporwave revolves around 90s nostalgia, it often uses humour, irony, and surrealism in its appreciation of the decade.
