Lilo Pelekai is one of the title characters from the Disney animated film Lilo & Stitch and its franchise. An orphaned Native Hawaiian human girl from the Hawaiian island of Kauai with long black hair, she is a highly eccentric individual who has several unusual traits. These include an enjoyment of horror and sci-fi films, photography of tourists (especially obese ones), feeding a fish named Pudge a peanut butter sandwich every Thursday because she believes he controls the weather, and an obsession of Elvis Presley and his music, although she also likes stuff from her state's culture such as hula dancing and surfing. She owns a rag doll named Scrump, who she made herself. Her older sister Nani is also her legal guardian. Lilo is not the most well-behaved person, but she is nonetheless kind and well-meaning. She has a strong belief in ʻohana, a Hawaiian concept of family, which she used to tame her alien best friend (and adopted "dog") Stitch and his experiment "cousins".
The franchise's post-2006 spin-offs (Stitch!, Stitch & Ai, and Stitch & the Samurai) remove her has a main character, with different humans taking her place as Stitch's best friend in them. Stitch! shows her as an adult who has an identical-looking daughter named Ani. Stitch & Ai had her only appearing in flashbacks and she isn't mentioned by name or even referred to. Finally, Stitch & the Samurai takes place in Earth's past, well before Lilo's modern-day time, thus preventing from making any appearance.
