In many animals, including amphibians, reptiles, birds, invertebrates and even a few mammals, the digestive, urinary and genital tracts open into a single common chamber called the cloaca. The term is commonly used on e621 to refer to the external posterior opening of the orifice specifically, although this opening is more properly termed the "vent".
Only tag cloaca when such anatomy is clearly visible as such and not in some way obscured by pose, clothing or some other object or character.
- Characters that have a cloaca do not have a separate anus and should not be tagged as such.
- Not to be confused with genital_slit.
