Digestion is the process of food being broken down via chemical and mechanical means, and absorbed by a living being for sustenance.
The digestive process in art is usually only implied by stomach noises and context (e.g. a character's stomach rumbling after eating), however, it can be depicted explicitly via an internal of substances, objects or ingested creatures being digested within the stomach, the stomach contracting, or filling with stomach acid; rarely, this can include other parts of the gastrointestinal tract. Digestion may be implied in sequence by a character ingesting, and then digesting something, causing them to gain weight, grow, or expand.
Digestion can be a part of stuffing, cum inflation, weight gain or even posts depicting a character simply eating food, and is a major part of vore content (see section below).

Digestion and Vore
Digestion plays a major role in vore content, particularly oral vore. It may be implied or explicitly shown by sequence, comic or in animation, internally or externally. Note that a character simply being in another's stomach isn't enough to be tagged digestion, unless it has occurred to other contents of the stomach, or strongly implied to be occurring by pooling stomach acid, contractions of the stomach, rumbling stomach, or even dialogue.
In vore scenarios, digestion may be shown to occur in organs other than those of the digestive tract, such as within the testicles in cock vore, uterus in unbirthing, and sometimes the colon or rectum in anal vore (although typically, digestion in anal vore still occurs via the stomach, with the prey sucked in reverse, through the intestines).
Vore Specific Digestion Tags
- after_vore - if the prey is shown to be, or implied to have been completely digested (see page for more)
- imminent_digestion - the prey has just been swallowed and is clearly facing digestion, but is not being digested at the moment
- cum_vore - a character being digested by, or absorbed into cum (usually within the testes)
- pussy_juice vore - a character being digested by, or absorbed into vaginal secretions
- melting - not inherently digestion or vore related, but can apply to a character melting in a cartoon fashion while being digested
