Makoto Nanaya is a playable character starting from BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II. She is a former classmate and friend of Tsubaki Yayoi, Noel Vermillion, Mai Natsume, and Kajun Faycott as well as a former schoolmate of Carl Clover and Jin Kisaragi from the Military Academy. She is a Beastkin, specifically a squirrel humanoid who decided to join the military for its financial benefits to her family. She doesn't take kindly to those who are prejudiced towards her or Beastkins and acts rather coldly towards people at first until she gets to know the individual.

The sole reason for her skimpy outfit is for the purpose to throw her enemies off their game/tactics by distracting them with her "defining features"

Of all the students and military combatants, she is the only known one who engages in hand-to-hand combat. Her physique is on the toned side and her personality is very lively and joyful.
