Popplio (アシマリ Ashimari) is a water-type Pokémon. This Pokémon was announced on May 10, 2016 as a part of the new group of Starter trio featured in the Pokémon Sun and Moon games.

Popplio is a pinniped, based on a sea lion Pokémon with a mainly blue body. It has large eyes, a long white muzzle with black whiskers and a round, pink nose.
It has small ears on either side of its head. It has a sky-blue ruff around its neck that extends over its shoulders. Its pectoral fins are more developed than its caudal fin, with two white markings outlining its toes.
