Species: mobian
A Mobians are one of the four major species of sentient life in the Sonic the Hedgehog universe, alongside humans, feral animals, and robots They hail from the planet Mobius, hence their name. The plural of Mobian is Mobians.
Anatomy
Mobians are anthropomorphic animals, possessing a wide range of species and colors. Most are short with thin legs, thin arms and large heads, however these are not hard rules and exceptions like big_the_cat show that mobians can come in many different sizes. Their most consistent feature is their short rounded snout that extends to their cheeks with a small black nose. Their snout is always an off color from the rest of their face, normally matching the color of the fur on their chest. The only exceptions that do not have a snout like this are bird based mobians like wave_the_swallow who have a beak instead. Almost all mobians have brightly colored fur with no or few markings. Mobians also normally have large eyes and human-like feet.
All mobians take after a specific animal, most commonly hedgehogs. Despite this, they take very few traits from the animal they're based on, normally just modifying their ears, hairstyle, and tail, similar to animal humanoids
Additional Information
Mobians (especially males) do not usually wear a lot of clothes. Others (often females) wear more complete clothing, such as dresses and jackets. It is also common for them to use accessories such as necklaces, bracelets, headphones, eyewear, belts, bandages, and chains. Mobians also almost always wear very large gloves and footwear. The only cannon Mobian character who doesn't wear gloves outside of fan art is sticks the jungle badger.
The most outstanding quality of Mobians, is that many possess powers and abilities, both physical and magical. This most often manifests as some combination of either super human strength or speed. Other physical abilities include flight, gliding, tunneling, swimming, or water breathing based on the base species physiology. While some characters and races are capable of more supernatural abilities, they are often linked to external artifacts or entities such as the Chaos Emeralds or the Wisps.
