If the rifle is slung over his right shoulder, then how is the strap going over his left...?

I know its a late reply, but the idea is that the strap is setup so that it clips to 2 points on the rifle, and holds it so the weight is off of the users neck/chest area. Basically hes carrying it from his shoulder, and its got a strap and likely a bar along the rifle to keep it from rotating.
