Story

Sean came down to the cafeteria, and sat down at the usual table, next to Ryan. He could see Ryan was clearly up to something, and that promised something interesting.

"So what have you been doing this weekend?" asked Sean, getting to the point.

"Oh, nothing much," replied Ryan with a poorly concealed smile. "Just this," and he passed his friend his cell phone.

"Holy shit!" exclaimed Sean, and then looked around to make sure no teacher had taken notice of the profanity. Fortunately nobody seemed to be paying attention.

"How the hell did you do that?"

"I bought a bunch of cheap toys and crap, dug up one of grandma's old fancy cups from the attic, and improvised a bit. I'm quite proud of the bit with the leaf rake."

"Not that." Sean lowered his voice. "How the hell didn't she bite your dick off?"

"Ah, there is a bunch of tricks for that. It is dangerous, but I know how to be persuasive. I have photos of that, and I'm sure we can agree on a price…"

"Heh, so that's what you're up to. Bastard!" muttered Sean.

"Oh, and that's not all. For the right price I could even set this up for you."

Sean realized with a sinking feeling that this probably meant that all of his summer money would be going to Ryan. But damn, this was too good to refuse.

"I will have to think about it," he said, trying to hide his excitement.

"Of course there will be some conditions", said Ryan. "First of all you will follow my guidance at all times. Second, we do this when my parents aren't home. Third, the pictures are for your own use and not to be shared with anybody."

"Ah, that whole 'Prey dignity' noise?"

"Yup. My parents aren't too happy with this stuff, but they seem to tolerate it. Probably because they don't know even half of it yet. You definitely don't want people to know you're doing this, just in case."

"That makes sense," nodded Sean. That damn Ryan, he already had the whole business figured out.

"Okay, suppose I want to do this, how do we set things up?"

Ryan smiled. "Come up to my tree house this afternoon and we'll discuss business."

I think I'd rather be a slave then food.

I'm a bit confused due to the wording. Are you saying you'd want to be a slave first, THEN be food, or did you just use 'then' instead of 'than'?

Seems as though these bunnies are expendable. If all three are a daily meal, don't you think they cycle through fast enough for the next day?

Not in this universe. The preds like to torture the slaves before eating them. If I understand the setting right, the prey are considered to be less civilized and intelligent than the preds.

"considered" is the key word. even the author notes that they are not. they just dont get the chance to do anything with the constant attacks from predators.
