it is kinda funny, if you know your Christian tales and stories, John the Baptist was referred to as the Lion, and Jesus was always called a Lamb, so I do not honestly get why the furry depictions of Jesus are always a lion either.

Sometimes Jesus is called the Lion of Judah. The lion was already associated with his tribe, the tribe of Judah, in Genesis.
