MemberHuh. You'd think taking the other things off would be more embarrassing. Oh well, to each their own.

MemberI have a theory that taking off a Shyguy's (or -Gal's) mask makes the mask turn into a Phanto - one of those floating mask enemies from Super Mario Bros. 2 that chases you when you pick up a key.
…of course, the other part of the theory is that the Shyguy turns into something much worse...

MemberWearing a mask often allows people to displace themselves and their own ideas of whats embarrassing or wrong, by using the fact that no one can see their expressions, or tell who they are.
People are braver behind masks than they would normally be if someone could see their face. Someone with stage fright, could play a perfect part if the character wears a mask, because they feel a certain amount of safety in knowing being cannot see their expressions.
I know from experience that putting on a mask makes it easy to do silly or out of the ordinary acts.

MemberI think that a lot of con-goers (my first thought was of fursuiters, but I realized that that was just one example) can attest to this fact. A costume, disguise, or even just a mask, can be liberating.
Plus, what about Halloween? (e.g. A full-grown man in a ballarina outfit, or a 18-year-old girl dressed as the Hulk)
