I don't really know, but can think of two possible scenarios (as guesses).

Or, I know that sometimes an artist will edit their submission after uploading it and replace it with a bigger file (on FA it's usually as a workaround to their insane file resizing issues). Point being, if they uploaded it smaller at any point and then replaced the file with a bigger one after you uploaded it here...it sounds crazy but it has actually happened. (Usually though because they wanted to make a few more tweaks, or fix a character detail for their commissioner, or because something went wrong with FA resizing it badly on them as sometimes has happened, etc).

I don't know what happened in this case, but those are the two most common culprits for why the same source can produce two different size versions over the course of a couple of weeks. The internet just isn't very static.

Yeah, that work-around is indeed a regular thing on FA, but much less so on Weasyl, that's why I find it weird.

And I didn't upload the smaller comment page image instead of the full file, I actually went to check whether that had happened and my E621 upload was somewhere inbetween the page version and this new upload in size. So it was a full-sized one, just... smaller. He must've replaced it somewhere over the last week, but it wasn't exactly one of his most recent pictures so that's very coincidental.

Well your post did let me find it. Since I'm a big fan of red pandas and bonk. It was weird that I had the no cock one, and this one was new. Also having the cock one be a different size from the original one was urking me, so I had to make sure it was a mishap on either the uploaders (you) or bonk's. Either way, e621 get's the full size and one deletion for you doesn't affect your already outstanding uploaded performance.
