I've posted this because it's getting kind of annoying. I don't mind if you're too lazy to tag all the crazy stuff going on in the picture, I really don't. But at the very least do everyone a favor and tag gender. There's like, at most maybe 6 permutations of gender including male and female, and if you manage to tag them appropriately everyone else who uses the site can be happy. It's ok if you don't tag the nipple rings and the species and the positions and the character names and the original artist and the weird kinky shit going on (ok, actually try and keep that tagged because that stuff can get on people's nerves as well) BUT AT THE VERY LEAST TAG GENDER. End rant.

I'd say minimum tagging is the gender, the specie, and the number of characters.
The latter can be implicit by a combo of other tags (male + female, or male + gay.

In addition, not providing a source OR an artist is also an heresy. If one has really no clue about who drew a picture, they can put unknown_artist ; there are a few people here that are hunting down this tag.

Sometimes there are legitimate reasons not to tag gender. Like when it's ambigious, or not-applicable though. Also, there's a forum link somewhere up there.

My problem is that so many pictures the gender is rather obvious but the people posting it are too goddamn lazy to tag it themselves. It's not too much to ask when you've already taken the time to upload the image.
