    It doesn't look practical at all. The axes positioning and weight would move the center of gravity to the front end, making aiming a lot more difficult and unstable. And the impact of an axe strike could damage the pistols mechanics, preventing it from working alltogether. But thats just assumptions.

    It's flintlock so it's probably meant for close range anyway
