Description

As of when I'm posting this, the latest episode of Helluva Boss dropped on YouTube, Season 2, Episode 11: Mastermind.

If you've seen the episode, you might have noticed Andrealphus calling his sister, Stella, quote: "Hot" and "Aggressively Attractive". Hmmm... I wonder if...

Oh They Fucking. OH DEY FAWKIN!

  • It's a fun idea, but I don't think the show is going this direction.

The fact of the matter is, Andrealphus reflects how many nobles view their own family, just in a very blunt way: to a head of house (usually the father, sometimes a brother) children are a utilitarian concern first, emotional bonding second and it's optional. To them "what do they want in life" wasn't the primary concern, "what can you do for me" was. Additionally as we saw in the pride poster (which both canon and an official merch you can buy) Andrealphus is gay as fuck

As the de facto head of their house, Andre wants to get Stella married to the most powerful person he can find, nothing else matters. He laments however, that Stella's only positive quality is that many people find her attractive (it's me, I'm people)

All of this is because that's the reality of Feudalism for the people on the upper end: a neverending struggle for power and wealth between a monarch and the nobles directly underneath them

Absolutely could see that being the case. I mean, it's not been officially supported from the creators that they have a Lannister thing going on, but it's still fun

  • I was telling my sister this earlier cause we have our own opinions on the show. Mine was along the lines of, if they're gonna go the edgy route with this show, which they don't outside of the pilot, then they should go the incest route.

Not only does it make sense if their caste is similar to how it was in feudal Europe, then incest should not be discounted. Or even made to look appalling.

I knew this was a fan theory that had been floating around but has so far not been really substantiated by the creators, but hearing Andre talk about his sister that way and the looks both Asmodeus and Beelzebub gave at the trial, it at least HEAVILY implies something is going on.
