I would personally say yes but download a couple mods for added funzies ( dress my slugcat, meow mod, improved input config,sb camera scroll, and if you want more replay ability chasing winds mod pack (there’s also a difficulty slider in remix menu)). All on steam workshop.

In my opinion it's better to go in with no mods except camera scroll and dress my slugcat. You can find mods on the steam workshop if you have it on steam. I'm not sure about forge though

Ill probably check forge and steam workshop after I stop procrastinating and actually download the game lol

Dress my slugcat is a fine mod to keep the game replayable after you already beat it.
Camera roll is also a bad mod for a first playthrough; don't want to spoil but there is a moment in the game where sudden transitions between rooms are subdued and IT'S FUCKING INSANE worse is that with it you basically have to choose whether to get your game completely frozen for a couple minutes in each karma gate or to freeze for half a second on each room change + seams between screens because surprise rain world was made from the ground up to be divided the way it is

For a first playthrough I would play on 1.5 but i do it out of pity and nostalgia and it's ok if you don't want to just download sharpener and maybe blood mod if you're feeling spicy.
Also if you don't have game on steam it's best to take mods of Raindb
