    Straight-up bomb of a comic.
I feel for the artist through the narrative.

  • Lust and Limerance. The desires of the body and the desires of the soul. This comic truly has been quite the tragedy, but I feel like it really shows ones inner self. Both need to be satisfied in order to feel happy, anytime one is dissatisfied, neither feel much gratification. At first, they try their best to work together, even if limerance holds lust back all the time, lust was more than willing to try and comprise with him because he understood they both need to work together to feel any satisfaction. However, Lim is an emotional thinker, whereas lust was logical, furthering their divide as soul and body, as well as the divide between them socially. Eventually, Lim pushes Lust too far, he was willing to be patient with him but the frustration of his emotions gets the better of him.

'I don't know what else to do! Why do you have to make this so hard!?'

Lust 'literally' cannot understand Lim's feelings, he may feel them too but he processes them differently. He see's Lim's bad emotions as something being broken that needs to be fixed, but when nothing he tries fixes it, he can't help but to feel like Lim is impossible to help at times, which hurts him too. Running out of options and feeling not listened to, Lust tries to forcefully silence Lim so that his own desires can be focused on, but it just pushes lim to his edge as well.

Lim may of never said it, but lust frustrates him just as much, his inability and unwillingness to connect to him emotionally and only ever expressing extremely basic desires makes him feel like he's talking to a machine. Even when lust explains how things are between them, lim never sees lust as someone else with their own needs, but only as something he has to put up with to get what he wants. When lust silences him, he comes to the conclusion that lust NEVER wanted what was best for him, that satisfying him was just the means to get what he wanted.

Thus ensues a battle that's only self destructive, neither able to hurt each other without also hurting themselves, both in a metaphorical and literal way. Lust realizes the futility in fighting and comes to the conclusion that the only way they can be happy is if they aren't reliant on each other anymore, however... his desperation for a solution blinds him to the fact that they NEED each other, not seeing this until it's far too late to fix it.

Just like in real life, the body actually continues living for just a bit longer even if the soul is entirely gone, hence why Lust was able to get up just for a moment...before realizing that separating the body and soul, is death.

I have to wonder what lim was thinking in those final moments, with him silenced, we only got to hear lust speak. Just before the sawing, we see lust struggling trying to pull them towards it, showing that both sides have likely equal strength, yet the cut itself happens so quickly. Did...Lim give in to lusts wants? Did he also come to the same conclusion as him? Did he just want release from the torment of being bound to someone else?

So many questions...perhaps, never to be answered.
