Corporations that overextend into too many fields trend to oligopoly & monopoly. & if we're going by modern standards tend to do a lot of tax evading, lobbying for exemptions, & eat a lot of bailout money. Due to excess bureaucracy, being cheap, & stalling innovation. & corruption. So much corruption.

Ren & Charlotte are acting hard but as oligarchs I assume they didn't think that far ahead & if they did they don't care.
The first things on a swindler's mind is:
1. Where the money at? How do I get it?
2. How do I keep myself rich?
3. Will I be busted?
4. I want protection. Legal, financial, & militant.

The answer being to eat the government.
