The way I remember it, WK fucked Herrah, she laid Hornet's egg, went to sleep, and then Hornet hatched and got raised by WK, WL, and Vespa.

i think people are downvoting these because they're debating ingame lore on porn but i want to throw my hat in the ring. I believe this dude is right. Herrah only agreed to become a Dreamer if the Pale King gave her a child, so Hornet was born JUST before the Hollow Knight was sealed away.
