I mean, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and to relegate the opinions of others as "just blacklist if you don't like it" is basically the same as saying "you're opinion is invalid, because you can just blacklist content you don't like".
now if those downvoting the content were making comments based on the content being objectional, you would easily have an argument, but saying it's a good post that doesn't deserve to be downvoted is simply your opinion.

The rating system is supposed to be based on the quality of the art, not the content. People downvoting based on content are technically misusing it, and thus the criticism of such is warranted.

https://e621.net/help/voting idk about you, but my interpretation of this page tells me more that it's a like/dislike system based on whether people like or dislike the posts themselves, rather than judging the quality of the content. if mods want to point out where I'm wrong, I'd gladly take the criticism ;)
