If I were to take a guess at it...

A high heart rate causing a stronger blood flow, leading to an increase in metabolism and thus causing the potion/lube and its effects to wear off that much quicker?

I would assume that since it's lube, and it's a topical use thing, it's going to work as long as there's enough of it in contact with the skin. I don't think it's as much a matter of the heat effect not lasting as long as they expect, i.e. the product being defective or the body metabolizing it faster, but that there's just no more left on her due to the extra activity from the additional partner.
