Depends on what you consider canon. The campaigns do leave all the slugcats ambiguous. But the dating sim calls Artificer a mother and "word of god" refers to Artificer with she/her in the dev commentary.
But I do agree with the point above that complaining about canonical genders regardless is lame.

I wasn't complaining, just putting in my unasked-for two cents. I could have sworn that there was dialogue in the actual canon campaign that referred to it as a mother, but I'll have to double check because I don't want to spread misinformation.🤔

I'll update this post with either proof or an apology once I check.

Update: Darn, I was wrong, I apologize. I thought the Artificer exclusive echo refered to it as a mother, but after double checking I found that it didn't. I hereby retract my original comment about Artificer's gender. 🤐
