They are pretty inspired by them, the intent is that they are the same Zoroark and Zorua! Just that it's drawn in a different style than the original.

Must feel hella weird to have your stepson cheering you on while you consummate the relationship. But then, given how step-parenthood is often known to go, it's an auspicious start.
