Checked it again, the in-browser resolution for this page is 1024x768, but that version also has some minor pixelation. You'll also be fooled by watching the comic itself, the image displayed in the comic itself is this one, while the version you save is the smaller one. So in the end this is the superior one, even though it's friggin' huge.

This up-scale is totally unnecessary.

This image, at 100% zoom, has scaling artifacts and pixelation; it is not a higher quality version than a lower resolution image. If the in-browser 1024x768 image also has pixelation (which I cannot see any evidence of), that would actually only further the point that it is an unnecessary upscale. The fact that the image displayed in the comic itself is this one just means that the one responsible for the unnecessary upscale is valve.

It's some abomination of different resolutions. The valve logo is at 1/4 the scale of the rest of the image. It's like they upscaled it to 4x then put a normal size valve logo on it.
