Funny thing is I learned about the song Boys of Summer from my favorite band The Midnight doing a cover of it at one of their shows. They based one of their songs "Days of Thunder" off it and made it the sequel song to Boys of Summer using the same synth base line.
Thought the lyrics of the song matched the animation well.

Nothing's better than a summer road trip and an upbeat song on the radio
