It says defeat the dragon king to free you soul. I take that to mean that Yuu Eye and Dolan parted way so to speak. He may not have control over Dolan anymore as the deal is complete.

Maybe, but he seems to have some invisible helpers that still guide him, even maybe to constantly remind him of a quest that popped up.

Just don't complete the main quest and he should be fine. Make your own side-quest. There everywhere!

I am noticing a slight theme with the eyes; Nah nah took a curse of obsession into her eyes, and the soul magic by mister yuu eye also has prominent effects on Dolan's eyes.

I suppose he never really did defeat the dragon king

Plays into my spiritual and occult beliefs. Like, I won't go on a ramble here but in short: I follow the path of orange magick. Illusions. Your eyes reveal and betray the world. They focus and hide things, thus define your reality and purpose. Grab onto sight and you can manipulate one most of all. See something over and over enough and it becomes your truth/reality.

Lastly, the inverted triangle is a holy symbol to me in that it represents the notion "those who fall deepest are all the more likely to rise again." It's a mark of darkness and chaos both wild and serene. It also appears on certain higher spirits in my other works, least of which the true holder of it, the child of Arbinel...Valdurech.
