The only reason Roxanne even remembers Cassie is because she won first place twice, which feeds back into her toxic 'be a winner who everyone loves or a loser everyone hates' mentality. Legit, if Cassie had gotten last place in those races, it wouldn't surprise me if Rox treated her much more poorly, maybe not as aggressively as she is towards Gregory (Whom, admittedly, deserves to be seen VERY poorly by Rox...no pun intended) but still, probably in a dismissive or bullying like manner.
Overall, her kindness feels...rather out of character for her, which is nice, but it's kinda forced during her cutscenes once she realizes it's Cassie and not Gregory. That's how I feel about it anyway.

I think when she said that, she meant to say that Cassie is the number 2 to her number 1, but Cassie is still worthy of being number one, thus the "number one - twice" comment.

EDIT: I just realized what that line was in reference to, Cassie's birthday is on the 11th, number one twice, it's a mnemonic device.

Nah, in the lore I believe it was because of the Glitchtrap Virus that it amplified parts of the programming of a flaw in character such as Monty with his Anger, Chica with her Hunger and finally Roxanne with her Pride, where originally these would have been only very small parts of their programming to make their personalities more unique amplifying it from like 10% to like 80% of their personality causes them to go haywire with Monty destroying his room, Chica eating Pizza even through it pretty much is causing her internal damage because of the food sticking to her Endoskeleton and finally it made Roxanne toxicly prideful of coming first and always thinking about her looks no matter who she damaged to get there, that's why a lot of the animatronics where getting confused about the changes happening to them because they didn't know they where infected it just happened to them.

Remember though all where originally programmed to make Children the most important thing to them whether it was on stage entertainment, VIP meet and greets or especially the Birthday Special VIPs each child gets logged with them as part of their memories

Hence when Cassie gets involved with Roxanne when she says "I'm not Gregory" she apologizes and steps back because she's a none hostile child and I'm guessing due to the damage done to her head it's probably caused some of the Virus programming to be undone but what I do know after she is ran over and Cassie is over her favourite glamrock due to shock or the Vanni Network it causes Roxanne to return to her original programme and remember her special VIP Birthday Child, the one who loved her so much but nobody loved Cassie by never turning up to her birthday, however when Cassie resets Roxanne it causes Roxanne to completely return to her previous self just like Sun/Moon returning to Eclipse, Roxanne leaps in to defend the child from danger, that being the Mimic to help protect Cassie and let her escape

Don't know if its just me but the pose reminds me of the beginning of a level in jet set radio, also now that I think about that would be a neat crossover character style wise
