MemberThese movies are wierd. The first one had moments that genuinely made me tear up, and the second had me feeling a level of happiness I haven't felt since I watched Spider-Man 2 for the first time.
I am very much looking forward to numero 3.
please dont kill off Tom and Maddie

MemberNah that would be too traumatic for a kids movie
user 889992
MemberAs opposed to Shadow's origin?
Bill Furray
MemberThe difference is that unless they start the movie with Shadow's backstory The audience will be clued in that something will happen to Maria. They known Tom and Maddie a lot longer than they will know Maria. Sonic losing two more parental figures in the present time is more impactful than a girl dying in the past.

MemberI think the death of a child would have an equal if not more of an impact than two characters that the audience has grown attached to.

MemberFor OG Sonic fans, sure.
user 889992
MemberThe fact that the audience might be OG Sonic fans is irrelevant. It is the murder of a child.

MemberThere's been a quite a few kids movies where a character has died. Into The Spiderverse is a great example. Not trying to be an ass, just figured I'd put it out there
