"Polearms" generally refer to weapons that have a long shaft and some form of head at the end, and are usually at least 6 ft long, but are often made even longer. Halberds are very much included in this definition, along with billhooks, glaives, spears, pikes, poleaxes, war scythes, bec de corbins, partisans, bardiches, and naginatas, which are only some of the many types of polearms. It also includes a bit of strange weapons such as the mancatcher.
