According to the lore, she was one of the 6 great ancestors but when they were tricked into sealing themselves, Tamamo found a way to instead keep herself in a younger form while the monster lord Alipheese Fateburn the First asked her to oversee the Fateburn bloodline and after Alipheese Fateburn VIII went rogue, Tamamo decided to mentor the next Monster Lords afterwards to ensure that doesn't happen again.
