MemberI mean they are AI And they did make the art so....
CrazyT
MemberIf Grimlock was real and did art, would you say his art isn't real? CAUSE I SURE WOULDN'T!
Same with a Porygon. One can destroy you physically, the other can ruin your entire career by hacking your accounts. If it's a sentient AI you just ruined your life. They have a network.

MemberLol at the seething artists downvoting. Also, it doesn’t “steal your work”, that’s not how it works. It essentially collects statistics on labeled imagery it’s fed and can then create new images based on filtering random noise through those statistics, it doesn’t take parts of peoples’ images and stitch them together unless you would consider taking a survey “theft”.
And you are technically being luddites. That’s not some insult, it refers to textile workers at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution who were opposed to the use of machines which were taking their jobs and took active measures to try to stop them from being used. It’s not an evil thing, it’s not an insult, it’s a perfectly understandable position for you to take which I empathize with.
It is quite ironic that the one thing it was assumed would be safe from AI turns out to be among the first threatened by it, while we’re probably still years away from a lot of manual unskilled labor being threatened.
It’s not all doom and gloom though. Learn how the tech work and you’ll learn the fundamental limits of the technology. Even if it improves exponentially, it would still require a fundamental change in how current AI works for it to break the barriers to its limitations. Current AI, all of it, is inherently derivative.

MemberBut it's a protogen, not a synth. Or maybe it's running the AI on itself just like they can run Doom.
