This is a scene from the last chapter before the epilogue of my fan fiction The Long Road Home :3

It has been a long, dangerous adventure, but at last it was over; Tachyon was dead, the Cragmites were finished, and the universe was safe at last... things could finally go back to normal.

But was that what Rivet *wanted*?

Yes, she *did* want peace to return, she *did* want life to be calm for a change; she had fought as a rebel for over half her life! Of COURSE she wanted things to go back to normal!

But that would mean losing *him*...

Ratchet had a home already... with Clank... The citizens of Corson V would need them in the weeks to come; they needed their heroes back home to help rebuild... but her? She had the Morts, yes... but she had no home... she wanted to be with *Ratchet*... every day they spent together, whether it was in exile on Veracros or abroad the Phoneix, wherever he was, THAT was where her home was... and he was going away...

Or at least that was what she *thought*

Ratchet, noticing her tears, clasps her hands.

He reminds her of everything he went through for her, tells her how much she means to him, and reinforces to her that she is the most amazing, the most beautiful, and thr most wonderful person he has ever met in his life, and swears again to never leave her.

Ratchet suddenly gets nervous, and, his face blushing as he remembers how his younger, selfish self had sworn never to entertain the idea, he asks Rivet to come live with him in Megalopolis.

Rivet's eyes widen and her heart races. Had she heard right?? Ratchet... her best friend, her lover, and her soulmate... HE wanted *her* to come and... live with him...?? It was... the idea of living with her boyfriend, the love of her life... It was... *wonderful*.

Before Ratchet can say another word, Rivet launches herself at her boyfriend in answer. Pressing her lips to his in a storm of love and happiness, and Ratchet's eyes close as he embraces her, the tropical air of pokitaru ruffling through his short, golden fur as they both hastily undress.

They might not yet be in Megalopolis, but their celebration at becoming a moved-in-together couple is only just beginning...
