I find it a tiny bit odd that the kids either end up just a fox or a bat.

Michiyoshi actually aging them up and giving them kids is a power move that sadly not other artists have done.

Actually in your account settings there is a comment score limit, being that standardly you can't see comments with more than 10 down-votes, however you can change this setting to be something like "hide comments with worse scores than -999999" and this opens up a whole new world of idiots with mouths too big for their own good.
