MemberYes, it's to make the character look gigantic. The artist describes this character as "建物よりデカい" or "bigger than a building".
Some quick estimations: Assuming the head is roughly the same size as a human head, this puts the character between 5 and 6 meters tall. So she's about 550cm or 18ft tall.
